One of the challenges of Marketing in 2011 is keeping up with all the new terms and concepts that seem to make themselves known.
One of them, which is relatively new to me, is Inbound Marketing.
Inbound marketing techniques typically use the Internet to get their message across and such methods include:
- RSS feeds;
- You Tube videos;
- Search engine optimisation (SEO); and
- Social networking portals.
ThankYou Water encouraged fans to show their support of 7-eleven through social media likes, tweets and status updates during the negotiation process. This, and no doubt other activity as well, helped the social enterprise group to secure a national deal with the retailer. Not bad for a group of five under 22 year olds based in Melbourne.
