How to Use Facebook Advertising to Drive More Traffic to your Site

POSTED: February 19, 2016 BY: CATEGORY:

Facebook advertising can be a fantastic way to reach more social media followers and it can also be used to drive more traffic to your website. Using Facebook’s advertising platform you can target the people who are most likely to be interested in your products or services and encourage them to click through to your website.

The trick to using Facebook advertising to bring people to your site is to create a compelling ad and target it at the right people. This can be a bit of a trial and error process but once you have got a clear idea of what works for your audience, it can yield fantastic results.

You can also make your website more friendly to social media visitors by including plenty of shareable content. This can come in the form of blog posts, video tutorials, e-books or just about anything else that your audience might be interested in passing on to their friends. This content can then be promoted via Facebook ads that will appear in people’s news feeds.

When you are creating your Facebook ad, you can specify that you are looking for clicks to your website as your objective in the Ads Manager. It’s a good idea to do this as you will be more readily able to see what kind of results you are getting as you go along.

Maximising conversions

Of course driving traffic to your site is probably not going to be your main objective. If you are sending people to your site you want them to do something when they get there. Maybe you want them to purchase a product online, sign up to a mailing list, share content they have read or get in touch with you.

Before you embark on a campaign to bring more traffic to your site it’s a good idea to think about what you want to achieve in terms of your business. It’s fine to have a goal of raising awareness but if awareness is your goal, think about how you are going to measure the results and determine whether your strategy is working or not.

If you are using Facebook ads to promote a particular product on your website it’s a good idea to make sure the link leads to a landing page and not just your home page. Having a dedicated page set up for Facebook visitors can help increase your conversion rates so you can make the most of your advertising spend.

If you approach it strategically, Facebook can be a fantastic way to drive more traffic to your site and reach a wider audience.
