I was privileged to spend some time with Rebecca (Bec) Derrington, the Founder of Sourcebottle.
Not only did we have a great chat (summary of some key notes below), Bec took the opportunity to do some impromptu (of me!) for SourceBottle TV?
Background to the ‘Source Bottle’ business idea.
Having worked in various Marketing and PR roles over her career, Bec had come to the ‘realisation’ that there had to be a more effective way to connect businesses (sources) to the media. So, along came SourceBottle.
Biggest learning from the first 12 months…
That being the first to market requires a lot of patience and education. Whilst there are similar services in international markets, SourceBottle was the first major player in this market in Australia.
The best bit so far…
Any successful business owner cherishes the ‘Ah ha’ moments. When people you haven’t seen in a while, realise that you (or Bec in this case) is the one behind SourceBottle!
I couldn’t have grown this fast without….
Twitter. The launch of SourceBottle has coincided with the rise of Twitter. Call outs are posted on the SourceBottle website and email alert, but also on Twitter which, inevitable get re-tweeted etc…. The power of Social Media.
Next step for SourceBottle
World domination! Watch this space as SourceBottle grows in the US, Canada and UK markets.
If you haven’t already signed up to this FREE and global service, then I highly recommend doing so now!
