I read recently a report from Harvard Business review titled “The New Conversation: Taking Social Media from Talk to Action”.
I highly recommend reading this report if you have any interest in social media marketing or would simply like some plain English observations about what it all means and how to move forward with it.
I particularly like the way the author described social media channels –
Type Pad & WordPress - publishing tools which offers any company or customer the chance to write a blog.
Twitter – a micro blog that allows rapid-fire stream of real time commentary, complaints and recommendations
Delicious and Digg – wiki and social news sites move links and ideas around the web
Facebook & LinkedIn – platforms where friends, fans and detractors connect
Trip Advisor – a review site which helps people planning a vacation
You Tube – a multi media site where companies can post promotional clips and customers can upload bad service examples from their iPhones in an instant!
Have you read the report? What do you think?
